21.5 imac hard drive replacement

My Problem

The hard drive in a co-workers imac died. She took it to a local shop who wanted $700 to repair it (no Joke). They said since the screen is glued to the machine they were going to have to replace the screen. A quick search on ifixit proved that was not true. Repaired for under $100 worth of parts.

My Fix

Taking apart the machine is very easy as long as you have the adhesive cutting tool. Hard drive is right there once the screen is off. Easy replacement

My Advice

Installing adhesive strips is very easy using the holes in the strips and computer. Only difficult part is lining the screen backup correctly.
