Powerbook can go distance again...

jrugebre -

My Problem

Our Mac Powerbook was no longer holding a charge and was tethered to a charging cord. I've replaced hard drives, added memory and installed airport cards (yes I'm an old mac user) and this was the easiest repair yet. Thanks for the guides!

My Fix

A quick review of the battery removal guide and the purchase of a tri-point Y1 screwdriver allowed me to pop in a new battery and get it mobile again. Repair time: less than 15 minutes.

My Advice

When I removed the screws from the back I arranged them on the cloth I was working on in the position I removed them. Some of them are longer than others, and didn't trust my memory to put them back in the right place. Made replacement straight forward. Also note that the battery connector just lifts straight up to remove.
