Revived my ASUS Transformer PRIME!!!

popiocoo -

My Problem

My charging port got damaged when it fell off a table while charging... the bent pins also shorted and fried the Motherboard. My dead tablet sat in a drawer in my room for almost 2 years... but I just couldn't get rid of it... it was too valuable to me still...

I thought there was no hope... until I randomly saw an endorsement for while searching for a new Tablet. I thought I'd have a peruse, and to my luck I saw extremely affordable repair parts for my TF700. I couldn't resist and ordered a new Charging port for about $12.00 CDN...

My Fix

I mustered up the courage to pry open my tablet using iFixit's dismantling guide. I was able to change the charging port, but it still wasn't working. So I figured I'll buy a new motherboard, since I gotten so far into the repair process. the motherboard was only about $60.00.. I felt reviving a $500 tablet for under $100, was definitely worth an attempt... and it WORKED!!

My Advice

With a little patience and courage, I suggest doing a little research and purchase some repair parts from iFixit. You may just revive a prize piece of technology that can save you $100's (compared to buying a whole new tablet/phone). IFIXIT can supply you with what you need.

100% happy with my purchase. :)
