problem was more than the battery

My Problem

Battery died in a mid-2011 MacBook Air 11"

My Fix

The repair was easier than expected. I bought the (inexpensive) tools recommended by iFixit. All Good.

Alas, there is another problem w the laptop not having to do with the integrity of the new battery itself. Battery won't charge. It will boot with the AC power. I repeatedly reset both PRAM and SMC. Nothing. I'm taking it to a local reliable Mac repair shop for diagnosis.

Again: the iFixit stuff worked fine. My problem though was more than just replacing the old battery.

My Advice

Bottom line: I am happy with iFixit, the instructions, and the gear I purchased from iFixit.
