My Problem

A designer for the company I work with has an old Macbook that had a cracked uppercase.

My Fix

The designer directed me to your site for instructions to replace it. I ordered the 54 Bit Driver Kit for the T6 Torx and Y0 and Y1 Tri-Wing bits. Other bits came in handy, too. I only needed those few bits, so I thought, but the entire kit is very useful. I've found other sets that I really want, but might just save up for the big kit. Lots of great tools in there, and I like the bag, which isn't sold separately.

My Advice

When replacing the logic board, it helps to have a couple extra hands to make sure all plugs are out. I disassembled and reassembled the Macbook several times, and realized the Trackpad connector was folded under. When inserting the ZIF cable for the keyboard, leave the battery out. You will have better access to inserting it. The battery will be in the way. You will probably need to leave the hard drive bracket off, too. It affected removing and replacing the battery.
