My daughter shattered her screen.
My Fix
1st time with the screen, I tore the ribbon cable, so I had to get a 2nd screen to complete the repair. While it was my fault for tearing the ribbon cable, iFixit gave me 50% off the 2nd replacement screen. Repair went flawlessly besides the one screen issue. Took about 2 hours the first time through. One hour on the 2nd screen install as I was familiar with the process by then. My daughter's quote after the repair? "It's like a new phone! I have to get used to that!"
My Advice
Be careful with the ribbon cables during both disassembly and reassembly. You don't want to tear them - then you have to wait for another shipment of parts before you can see your end results! Also, when reinstalling the main board, make sure all ribbon and other cables are over the main board. If you screw down the main board with cables underneath, you have to remove everything again to get them out. Ugh!
