My Problem

Battery failing in mid 2012 MacBook Air

My Fix

Very easy repair. Lots of screws but the repair guide is easy to follow. I decided to use this 2013 battery in my mid-2012 MacBook Air so I'd get a bit more time out of the battery. Seems to work just fine and fits like the original. Was a real Apple part so you don't have to worry about compatibility or performance issues.

My Advice

The P5 and T5 screwdrivers are easy to damage/strip out. That's better than stripping out the screws themselves though. I had one extra P5 screwdriver from a prior SSD upgrade. Good thing because I stripped out the iFixIt screwdriver and I've performed many of these types of repairs/upgrades. I hesitate to say the quality of the screwdriver is bad but be careful.

Apply good pressure against screws to keep the screwdriver from striping.
