My Problem
Silly little drop cracked and shattered most of the screen.
My Fix
At certain points during the digitizer/glass removal process I was ready to give up. You see, once the screen is cracked, it will not come off in one piece, rather in itty bitty shards of glass. Remain diligent though as once the outer glued edge is dislodged, the rest comes out easy.
My Advice
Was not aware how much trouble getting a cracked glass out was going to be. To be honest, though, had I known, I may not have attempted the repair. It was tedious work and DEFINITELY wear safety glasses. Small glass fragments were shooting everywhere. However, they were not sharp nor did I get cut at all.
Bottom line ~ do not tell anyone you were successful. Now "friends" are coming out of the woodwork wanting me to perform this miracle transfusion. Turns out everyone has a broken screen iPad. Who knew? :)
