iPhone 5s LCD and Digitizer Replacement

30 minutes - 1 hour

Moderate

My Problem

The iPhone had a cracked screen and the Touch ID was broken from my friend dropping it in water. The apple store wants $129 for the repair and my friend wanted to avoid using her $200 upgrade until the new phones are out.

My Fix

The repair went great. Taking it slow and following the instructions carefully kept things on track.

My Advice

One take-a-way - DONT remove the camera unit copper thermal pad from the metallic cover on the back of the LCD. You move this piece over to the new phone so its not necessary. The video showed it being removed but if you're not replacing the camera unit leave it be.
