My Problem

My 2009 MacBook Pro had a battery warning for about 2 years, and the last year was the "replace now" warning. I have had very little money so I kept putting it off. Well I'm in school and need it for my classes and it was really starting to act up and wouldn't hold a charge for even 5 minutes being unplugged. I brought it to my local apple store "simply mac" and they informed me that they no longer make my battery at all. The guy was super nice though and told me just what to look for in a battery online. I did some research and I went with this site because it seemed legitimate and had many reviews and very detailed instructions with great pictures.

My Fix

I have had absolutely zero experience doing any sort of repair or disassembling any computer, heck, this was my very first computer! It made me nervous to try something like this on my own. With the help of the guy at the store as well as the details of this site, I was able to change out the battery by myself. The only trouble I had was when I tried to put the screws back in the battery to hold it in place, I couldn't get it to fit properly. I figured out the my old battery actually was a little broken and left little plastic shards in the corners by the screw holes. Once I got that out of the way it was a breeze. I did not expect this to go as well as it did. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

My Advice

If you don't have special screwdrivers, what worked perfectly for me was a screwdriver meant for glasses repair. It was perfect!
