My Problem
A few weeks ago I was drinking a cup of lemonade over my laptop.. nothing I wouldn't normally do or hadn't done before. It was a humid day and when I lifted the glass to take a sip, a droplet fell onto my trackpad. I didn't think it was a serious matter so I wiped it off with my finger. I did notice that some moisture did get into the bottom crease; I ignored it. A few minutes later, the bottom inch of my trackpad wasn't working. The trackpad wouldn't sense my finger moving on it. Then the crusor started moving on its own, switching the desktop back and fourth, zooming in and out of websites on its own and opening applications on its own. There was no controlling the crusor. It became so annoying and frustrating that I had to have it repaired. I looked into Apple's Genius' doing it and they charged a whopping $169 for parts and labor (plus tax). When I shared the news with my boyfriend he told me about ifixit. I found the part and tools I needed to do it myself. All together cost was MUCH less than Apple's Genius! THANK YOU ifixit!!!
My Fix
Using the ifixit guide that I found via the search bar, I was able to follow along the really easy steps and replace my trackpad! Easy breezy! My trackpad is back to normal, working like a charm!
My Advice
Don't drink ANY beverages near your Apple Keyboard/Trackpad! Avoid the headache and frustration!! Lol If you do and it becomes damaged, use ifixit!!! Fast Shipping too!
