MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2009 Battery Replacement

5 - 10 minutes

Easy

My Problem

Loose Screen Hinge

Not enough memory

Optical Drive Limited

Battery Life Nonexistent

Slow Hard Drive

CPU Temps were high

My Fix

Tightened Screen Hinge

Added 16gb Ram

Replaced Optical Drive with a Blu Ray Burner (UJ 267)

Replaced Battery

Added 256gb Samsung 850 EVO SSD

Replaced TIM on CPU Heatsink with Gelid GC Extreme

It went really well! The ifixit guides made things a lot easier and it made the entire process a breeze. It took about a good 6 hours to do everything mentioned, but it was totally worth it.

My Advice

Go slow and take time to be organized. I'm ruined hardware in the past because I was rushing or was forcing something to fit. Just go slow with whatever repair you are doing and visualize each step before you go ahead and do it.
