My Problem
After being dropped, the phone was completely dead unless connected to the charger. With the charger, it went from blank, to the charging screen, to the apple screen, in an endless loop.
My Fix
Without a hitch. The new battery solved it.
My Advice
I didn't have suction cups. I don't recommend it, but you can get an iPhone 5 open by putting a tiny screwdriver between the screen and the frame, at the end where the 2 screws have been removed, and gently prying up.
