My Problem
Ordered a "cheap" digitizer from an eBay vendor. The home button didn't work after glass was installed. It kept binding in the hole in the glass. Of course, removing it again to troubleshoot meant it broke in the process.
My Fix
For the second digitizer I decided to go with a better version with great support and ordered the kit from iFixit. This glass is almost identical in construction to the Apple version. Home button assembly is much better quality. Adhesive tape is preinstalled on the glass. Easy mode.
My Advice
Take your time. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Follow the iFixit guide and enjoy your repaired device quickly and painlessly.
