My Problem
Was having issues with Mid 2012 Macbook Pro reading internal hard drive. It would work and then poop out. Was able to boot without a problem via USB enclosure (with the original hard drive) so narrowed it down to a cable. Ordered from ifixit. Stated it was yanked from a used computer.
My Fix
Cable came boxed neatly with plenty of space for potential box damages from deliverer. Popped it in and worked in no time. Thanks! Took about 10 mins.
My Advice
Make sure to disconnect the battery internally before doing any work on it. Also make sure to be cautious of the heat-sink tape that runs underneath where the cable kinks. That stuff is flimsy. Additionally you can put a piece of electrical tape under where the cable meets the base of the machine. Provides an additional buffer from future scraping.
