My Problem

The battery on my iPhone became the worst battery I've ever had the displeasure of using. To top it off, the charging port started to be problematic as well and wouldn't charge the phone half the time. Nothing worse than your phone being dead after 4 hours and plugging it in for awhile to come back to a STILL DEAD PHONE!! Arrrrrgh!!

My Fix

The battery replacement was easy and straightforward. The lightning connector was not. The video tutorial to change out the lightning connector wasn't helpful at all, use the step by step guide instead. Be prepared to catalog the screws as it's very difficult to tell the difference between a 2.7mm screw and a 3.0mm screw. Also get some sort of magnetic tray to hold them because they're tiny and easy to lose otherwise!! Lastly, the install took about 2 hours while drinking beer, so someone who isn't half intoxicated might get it done a bit quicker! :)

My Advice

Get a magnetic tray to hold the screws and make sure you have all the right tools for the job.
