My Problem
The headphone jack on on my S4 active has become half operational. The microphone or controls are no longer functioning, however I still get music through the headphones, so I just have to use the touchscreen instead of the built in headphone controls.
My Fix
After full dissasembly of the S4 Active, I discovered taht the headphone jack is integrated into the rear frame and thus was unable to replair the jack with the parts I ordered. I foolishly assumed that the jack was a singular component instead of integrated. After looking up a few more You tube videos on the S4 active, I discovered that the rear panel has multiple integrated parts, the speaker, headphone jack, and something else which escapes me at the moment. Therefore, the repair is still not complete, and I am just going to wait another month and upgrade my phone anyway....
My Advice
make sure that you fully analyze your repair and make sure you get the right parts.
