My Problem
I had so much trouble with my Iphone 5 battery. I could for example have 80 % battery capasity left. After one phonecall it would drop down to 22 %. I did everything by the book to save battery. But no luck. I had to charge it 2-3 times a day.
My Fix
I got the repair kit very fast. Less than a week. And i live in Norway. Perfect service. I followd each step by the ifixit page.
It was so scary at first. Cause i heard a lot of cracking noise. So i thought my screen got ruined. It was a bit stuck. At the video it looked kinda easy to get the screen off. Im not sure if it were just my phone that made the screen so hard to get off. But this took some time. I watched a video from youtube too. Actually what that guy did was easier. Because he didn`t take off the whole screen. But just the attachment of the battery. I also missed a video getting the screen etc. back on by you guys on ifixit. Because when i put it back on, and when i turned it on. It was blurry green screen. So i had to take it off again. Then i so i had forgot to put one of the wires on. I think i used about 45 minutes total. But thats because i tryed to be really careful since i have never done this before. Also the screws have to be the smallest screws i have ever seen before. So its very easy for one of them to get lost if you are not careful.
But ifixit is just geniouse. My phone is like new now. With only a few tools and a whole new battery for a good price. Now i can have my phone a while more before i have to change. So you saved me a lot of money. It hasn`t exploded yet either. So thats a good thing :) So thanks to ifixit.
My Advice
Follow the instructions very carefully when you change whatever you need to change. Take your time. Don`t rush it. And remember where you take out different wires etc. Cause its easy to forget while you are doing it.
I will definetly fix everything myself from now on. Its fun when you actually do it yourself and see it works perfectly. You also save a lot of money. Instead of giving it to a repairshop. Or sending it in the mail and maby be without a phone for 3-4 weeks. If you order the tools needed. You will fix it yourself in a very short time.
