My Problem
The drive was showing signs of trouble. Slow, errors etc...
My Fix
The repair was extremely easy the only thing was the drive was ever so slightly smaller than the one I removed. So to keep it from moving around I put a few pieces of blue tack on the sides to hold it in place.
My Advice
If you own this Macbook Pro model early 2011 and your drive is giving you problems go for a new drive. It really is a doodle to fit and a lot cheaper than sending it away. Don't be afraid of trying it yourself. I also installed 16gb of ram in this machine which was also extremely easy.
