My Problem
Out of no where my Macbook started showing flashing/blinking folder with question mark at start up.
My Fix
I tried all the fix listed on apple site and off course non of them worked. Checked hard-disk and kept getting random error messages so I erased it and re-installed the OS. But this did not fix my computer and then I came across the IFXIT site with advise on booting my computer via usb and checking the cable. Unfortunately it was the bad cable and HD was perfectly fine. Replaced the cable and my MacPro is working again.
My Advice
In the hindsight, I wish I had checked the cable before checking/erasing the HD. I could have saved few hours of my time. The error message originating during the HD check/repair was due to the cable. But that's how you learn, right?
