My Problem
So the battery in my iPhone 5 would not hold a charge and I had the brilliant idea of replacing it with a $5 battery from another retailer. Well that revived the phone for about 3 months until it died again. I decided to spend the money and get a new 0 cycle battery from iFixit.
My Fix
Easy repair, keep track of all the little screw and make sure they go back from whence they came. Whole process took about 15 minutes. It might take you more time if the original battery is still in there, Apple likes to use a good amount of adhesive to secure the battery in there, which takes a good amount of force and prying to remove.
My Advice
Get a good quality phone repair toolkit. The cheapy tools that come with most purchases work well for about 1 use a good tool kit will last you for many repairs down the line. Once your friends find out you can fix a phone, they will bug you to do theirs.
