My first smartphone part replacement

My Problem

After a hard fall onto a hardwood floor, the screen cracked.

My Fix

Overall it was surprisingly easy, especially because of the easy to follow guides here on ifixit.com. The only part of the repair that was somewhat problematic was getting the multi-connector cable to fit back into the phone when putting it back together. Getting it put back in the correct direction was a bit of a puzzle. But eventually I managed to do it by really examining the pictures. At the end of the repair the phone booted up with no issues at all.

My Advice

I would have payed a little more attention to how the cable that connects everything together was situated and layered before removing it, maybe even taking some photos of it myself from several angles.
