My Problem

My 2010 Macbook Pro had been making a loud buzzing/rumbling noise when it was running for quite some time. I thought right off the bat that it was the fan and some research confirmed that this was likely the case.

My Fix

I ordered the fan from iFixit and was surprised to find that it didn't fit! I was extremely upset, waiting weeks for the item and having it not work is an impatient persons worst nightmare. So I contacted iFixit expecting it to go something like this: ship the fan back, pay the return shipping cost, be sent the new fan, wait 3 weeks, pay the shopping cost. So i sent pictures of the fan to iFixit and much to my relief iFixit apologized, notified me that the fan had been mis-molded and, without needing the old fan back or charging me any shipping whatsoever had the new fan at my door in 24 hours. WOW, was I ever surprised, relieved, impressed and my faith in capitalist humanity had been restored. They just earned a customer for life! Good job guys.

My Advice

No advice here, just good vibes all around. Oh, read the repair manifesto and weep like a baby.
