My Problem
My Ipod had been in storage for a number of years. When I dug it out to use in my car the battery was completely dead, would not even charge.
My Fix
The repair was as described in the various videos that you can find on You tube and I fix it. It was very very difficult to open the case. The provided tools were not thin enough, not were they strong enough to do the job well. Running the too up and down the side did not help the tool just wore down. I ended up having to use a thin flat head screw driver to get the case started in few different places and then I took my remaining tool open the case the rest of the way.
My Advice
If you have a really tight case you may have to use something stronger than the supplied tools. I managed to use a metal screw drive and I didn't damage the case much, you just need to be careful.
