My Problem
I had an iPad that some careless dumdum (myself) pretty much completely shattered the front panel on. So the panel needed to be replaced.
My Fix
The iOpener worked wonderfully until I got to the really shattered part of the panel removal. At that point a heat gun and some elbow grease was required but I got the panel off. In the process however accidently cut the wifi antenna (that I was explicitly warned about lol). I ordered the replacement and once it arrives I can finish up the repair. Otherwise so far so good. iFixit, You guys are awesome.
My Advice
The iOpener works really well but if the glass of the device is badly shattered it can be a little intrusive in a constant heat and scrape kind of operation. Also pay extra close attention when opening the bottom of the device, they aren't kidding when they say the antenna is delicate. And in a case with a bad shatter where elbow grease is required you should probably just order the antenna piece with the display since damaging it when removing serious glass shatter is almost inevitable.
