My Problem
The left half of the screen on my girlfriend's iPhone 5S was unresponsive and had light vertical lines.
My Fix
The repair went smoothly but thinking about it after the fact, the whole effort in step 25 of the guide which has the copper adhesive backed connector being removed from the large metal shield plate that goes over the back of the screen. The whole plate gets transferred to the new screen/digitizer assembly along with the home button, camera, etc... so why should it be removed? All that step does is make damaging the fragile cable assembly much more likely.
My Advice
Remove step 25 from the guide and add more specific detailed pictures of the proximity sensor and camera area. The holders they sorta snap into came on the new screen assembly but I couldn't tell that from the images shown so I removed them from the original assembly, then had to remove them from the sensor and camera to be able to fit it on the new assembly.
