My Problem
My mid-2012 Macbook Pro had started to become sluggish. The rainbow beach ball had been rearing it's ugly head more and more. After doing some research on the forums, it became obvious that the hard drive cable connected to my SSD was to blame.
My Fix
Using the guide provided by iFixit, the repair was a breeze. The pictures provided were clear and their procedures were accurate. From unpacking the cable to turning on my computer for a test run took about 15 minutes.
My Advice
Keep track of the screws and where they go. I placed them on a white piece of paper and labeled where they went. While your computer is cracked open, use this opportunity to clean out the inside using a can of compressed air.
