My Problem

My Macbook Air's (Mid 2013) SSD stopped working after updating to Yosemite. I brought my unit to the nearest apple repair centre to have it checked but backed out when I saw how huge I'd have to pay for the repair + parts - I decided to take matters into my own hands. With the right parts and tools - how hard could it be? iFixit had all the necessary tools and parts - including the shipping, I would save a lot of bucks. So why not do it on my own?

I bought the SSD replacement + the 54 bit driver

My Fix

Repair was a breeze. I followed the guide posted here in iFixit and everything went well. I do have to note that my battery connector is different from what is in the iFixit guide. iFixit screenshot shows a tab, which you pull to remove the battery connector - my unit doesn't have it.
