My Problem
The classic Light Yellowght of Death-cracked solder, bad thermal paste pads, really dusty
My Fix
Disassembly was long for a first time repair. I almost broke the ribbon cable clip for the Blu-ray. After disassembly, my assistant and I reflowed the solder with the included heat gun. We then applied a nice layer of thermal paste and thermal pads, also included, just before attaching the heat sink.
My Advice
Enlightenment? Be REALLY careful about the ribbon cable clips... a ps3 that we would fix with this kit is awfully old. Don't be too concerned about where to put the board, it doesn't really have to get THAT hot to reflow the solder. Last thing is- it may leave your fan ruining awfully loudly...
