My Problem

Macbook Air battery had died, and while plugged in the laptop ran at 50% CPU which was so painful, i immediately looked at solutions to replace the battery.

I checked the Mac Store and other repair shops, and they all charged around $250-$300, so I thought to myself, why not fix it myself?

I had come across ifixit.com in the past when the battery was nearing the end, so it was a no brainer to come back especially after doing a price comparison. Saved around $150 after all was said and done, and have a Torx screwdriver for future needs (and picking my teeth).

My Fix

It was so incredibly simple with the guides on ifixit.com and took no more than 30 mins. Most of the time was spent unscrewing the tiny screws and making sure I had them in a right order by placing them in the order I took them out.

My Advice

Replace it yourself - saves you money and you get to admire the architecture of your MacBook Air. I was quite impressed by the slim profile of the battery.
