My Problem
I went cheap and did not choose the built in SSD when I purchased the iMac. Bad choice. The computer was really, really slow with the 1TB internal HD.
My Fix
Could not have gone smoother. Removing the old and applying the new adhesive strips was a bit time consuming, but not difficult.
My Advice
Machine is now lightning fast. Used a Samsung EVO 850 SSD. Also using Trim Enabler from cindori.org. This was money well spent and the guides were fantastic.
