Macbook Pro Hard Drive Cable Failure

My Problem

The hard drive cable failed just after a year, sadly not under warranty (though I think this is a design defect that I wish Apple would own up to). After determining it was the cable we ordered the cable.

My Fix

The repair was quick and easy and now my wife's computer is working great. I appreciate the clear instructions from ifixit. The service was great also. After paying for 2 day air and it being delayed by UPS and not arriving in 2 days ifixit readily refunded the shipping costs. Thank you for the great service.

My Advice

I put some vinyl electrical tape between the hard drive cable and the case to hopefully prevent it from failing again.
