My Problem
The battery in my old, second-hand iPod was dead, and several friends recommended iFixit's repair kit, which was inexpensive and quickly delivered.
My Fix
The replacement was much more difficult than I expected! After about a half hour of effort, I hadn't even managed to open the iPod case. I'm fairly handy, so I was surprised by this. I didn't want to wreck the iPod, so I decided to outsource the job to a friend of a friend who's a gadget freak. He did the whole replacement in about fifteen minutes.
My Advice
Don't underestimate this repair job. It's not for the faint hearted!
