My Problem
Some unknown liquid (believed to be dish soap) was spilled on the phone and got into the microphone. The microphone thus stopped working.
My Fix
Following the online guide for speaker box replacement, I was able to get to the microphone and clean out the goop that gummed it up. That fixed the problem! I had to buy the necessary screw drivers, but other than that, the repair was free.
My Advice
The screws inside the phone are VERY small. They also use different sizes which to the naked eye, appear to be the same. Pay attention to where you removed each screw from and make sure it goes back into it's spot.
