Moderate

My Problem

After four years of use my wife's laptop became superhot, superunstable and most of all - supernoisy.

In short: the bearings of the fans become very noisy, which limited the heat dissipation.

My Fix

Replacing both fans was easier than expected. It actually reminded me why I like the Macbook Pros from those years.

The imagery on ifixit website helped a fair bit in reassembling everything back.

My Advice

I wasn't paying attention when ordering the replacement battery, so I had to make an additional order - with only the three-headed screwdriver that is needed to remove the battery.

Oh Apple! Why so complicated!
