My Problem
No sound was coming out of the ear speaker. Ear speaker would only work if I press to the right side of the speaker
My Fix
The repair was easy enough, the iFixit with was very good and easy to follow. The speaker that I purchased from iFixit worked, unfortunately the problem was not the speaker. I am still trying to trouble shoot it. The next thing I will do is to replace the front camera with the cable as I have read that people that had a similar issue solved it by replacing the cable.
My Advice
Be aware that I have found several issues that could be causing the problem of no sound coming out of the ear speaker. The easiest one to solve is software related. Some people have solved it by turning bluetooth and wifi off and restarting the phone, soft resets, or even a full restore of the phone. There are other multiple hardware issues that range from very easy to fix; such as cleaning the headphones jack and inserting and removing the headphone connector into the jack, to what I did. Replacing the speaker and connector cables. I also just found out from a local repair shop, that something else that could cause the issue is a bad battery that has expanded, therefore separating the speaker connectors. I hope this helps!
