My Problem
Well my girlfriends grandma wanted to trade her verizon iPhone 4 in for the 200 dollar credit for the new iPhone 6. Unfortunately they were only going to give her 40 because of her cracked screen. She asked repair stores in town and the average was 75 dollars to fix it. So I took it upon myself to try to do it for her myself. I did lots of research on replacement screens and although you can get the screen for 15-20 dollars on ebay or amazon or where ever , people should know what I learned is that those screens are cheaply made and have low quality which I think ifixit talks about. Ifixit has great quality parts for their price and based on prices I would prefer ifixit compared to ICrack.
My Fix
The repair went better than expected. I was worried that it would be complicated and what if I mess something up then I would look bad in front of my girlfriends grandma thinking I could fix it. Thankfully I saw a YouTube video that replaced the screen step by step and back together so I basically copied their format which I believe ifixit provided that video. The result was like new and my girlfriends grandma couldn't be more happier. Sorry no photos but all I can really say to describe it is that it looks like new in the box and works excellent and the old one was cracked all over and pieces of the glass were falling out.
My Advice
The advice I would give would be for customers who want to do the repairs themselves should follow the videos they can find to get a general idea on what they are getting themselves into. And for ifixit I would recommend printing out a screw chart and attach it with their order so the customers can know what screws go where besides memory or doing what I did and drawing your own screw chart.
