My Problem
HDD on my 7 year old iMac croaked. Guy's in the apple store said not with fixing and sold me a new one. Just for fun I googled replacing a dead hdrive on a Mac and the fixit guide came up + all bits. Invested the $150 just to see if was as easy as it looked.
My Fix
The guide made it look easy and guess what it was. Took about an hour even with major dust extraction. Fired up first time.
My Advice
You may need to create a partition on the drive to see it in the start up utility. Again fix it has a guide. Also need the start up disks that came the iMac I had to install all the way back from 10.5. Took many hours but worth it in the end. runs like a dream. Thank you I fixit!
