My Problem
iPad rolled off the top of the car into the road. Smashed the glass and dented the corners
My Fix
Wonderfully but it took a long time: 3-4 hours. The iOpener helped, but since my glass was so splintered I ended up having to get more bold about glass removal. The guide was invaluable pointing out the sensitive points of the repair. It would be been MUCH easier, though if the glass wasn't so broken. Had to eventually use an xActo blade to pry up chips of glass and adhesive residue. Very carefully.
Had to dremel out the corners a bit to get the new screen to fit back in, they were so dented from the impact. But that worked out great.
My Advice
Patience. The iOpener works, but slowly. Multiple applications may be required, and you don't want to overheat the thing. Don't rush it and you'll find it's easier than the thirty some odd steps suggest. Plus it's nightly satisfying.
