My Problem
Replaced the stock 1TB 7200 rpm hdd for a 1TB Samsung 840 EVO ssd
My Fix
Replacing the hdd was as easy as the title says. The pizza cutter went through like butter and did not have to apply any force and does not scratch the casing. Used the cutter to slice through the sides and top. All in all a hour of work for replacing the hdd for a ssd and applying the replacement adhevise strips. If needed to, i would do it again without breaking a sweat.
My Advice
Did not cut or replace the bottom adhesive strips. This will keep the glass screen lined-up with the back of the imac. You will have plenty of roam to remove and replace the hdd for something else. Also did not detach any cables, there is enough room to play and fidle ;-) Used one hand to keep the glass screen up and the other hand to unscrew and remove the hdd. Just be patient, watch what you are doing and everything should be fine.
