Moderate

My Problem

My fan had been making an intermittent whirring noise - like an engine was inside (disturbing co-workers and probably impairing my machine's ability to cool).

My Fix

Repair went fine - I missed a couple of screws and had trouble getting the cover off (my mistake), but retraced steps. Laptop works fine now, and I'll get another few years out of it (can't believe it's still working after 7 years!)

My Advice

Go ahead and fix it already - it's pretty easy. I already had the T6 Torx screwdriver from another repair - you'll need that, I did it without a "spludger".
