My Problem

My home server, a 15" MacBook Pro with cracked screen, started making "Quack-Quack" noises as at least one of the fans was on its way out. Had to fix it before I went crazy and the MBP cooked itself.

My Fix

Had opened the MacBook Pro earlier to replace the hard drive and expand memory. Followed the iFixit guide, things went smoothly.

My Advice

Only issue was amount of force required to unplug the fan cable. I kept a finger on top of the connector to ensure the wires wouldn't get pulled out.

Replaced one fan at a time so I could always have a model to follow. Glad I got the spudger, a screwdriver might have damaged the board.
