My Problem
Wanted to replace a 2010 disk drive before it failed, and hopefully improve the performance of the Mac using SSD technology
My Fix
The repair was simple, following the documentation provided by iFixit.
My Advice
Make sure you decide whether to purchase a pure SSD drive instead of a hybrid SSD. I accidentally purchased a hybrid SSD because the price, but should have purchased a smaller pure SSD, since they are much faster than the hybrid SSD which still has an internal spinning disk. But I did not want to return it since there would be charges. Overall I am satisfied with the newer disk drive, but the performance was not improved significantly as I had expected.
