Battery replacement - very easy after trauma of a cracked screen and trackpad

My Problem

When my more experienced fellow techie fixed my shattered screen and trackpad (long story) we discovered that the battery below the trackpad had been damaged and that the cells were ballooning outwards. Oops! Better replace that.

My Fix

Very smoothly and quickly. Your site is most excellent! Very easy to follow instructions.

My Advice

Anyone should be able to do this if they are careful. The screen repair (see above) on this unit was was a lot harder though. Not sure why folks complain about the "unreplaceable" batteries on these units. It's no big deal.

I will say that you should cover your keyboard with something to insulate it when using a heat gun on an LCD panel to remove the glass. The eject key melted!
