Moderate

My Problem

The MacBook Pro was making a lot of noise, seeming to be full of bees! Thankfully, it was merely the fan dying.

My Fix

The repair followed the guide in detail. Sadly, I had grabbed the wrong guide. I was able to work backwards to fix the improper steps and then was able to follow the correct steps. The fan came out with ease, and the new one fit in with ease. The old thermal tape (now 7 years old) did not stick on the new fan, so we taped the tape down (using small amounts of electrical tape) but otherwise, went smoothly.

My Advice

Be sure to click the correct guide (I was on my phone, the links were small, and most of the steps were the same). Also, be sure to read through the steps once or twice before starting and have a copy of them handy (printed or on your phone!)
