My Problem
Employee Dropped a Customers iPhone 6 and the Glass Shattered. I repaired the Glass but during the repair I damaged the home button flex cable connection.
My Fix
Once I got the complete Back Metal Plate with Home button flex cable swapped it out in like 15 mins and the repair went perfect.
My Advice
First just buy the full metal plate with Cable to safe time and money, Take your time with the device. Also take pictures to note the layering of the flex cables when you re-assemble.
My Problem
The home button on the phone wouldn't work.
My Fix
The part I order was just like the one in the phone and the repair went great!
My Advice
I will order parts from here again!!!
My Problem
Part was exactly as described. The plate got my iPhone 6 up and running after I damaged the original with a pair of tweezers! Lesson learned! But if you do make mistakes (who doesn't?) then ifixit can get your device up and running with their high quality replacement parts. :)
My Fix
GREAT!
My Advice
GREAT!
My Problem
When replacing the screen and digitizer on the iPhone 6, a drop cracked the screen, I damaged the home button, ribbon cable's logic board connection.
My Fix
Repair went swimmingly! I also noticed that the new replacement screen didn't line up well with the screw holes on the original shield. The new shield from IFIXIT fit like a glove and the screws lined up perfectly. Now it's scanning fingerprints like a champ!
My Advice
Advice? Careful where you get your screens...could mean some janky screw hole alignment. Also, when you should use a heat gun, use it, that glue works!
My Problem
I had dropped it too many times and had to repair the LCD screen.
My Fix
I ordered that part from a site called GadgetMenders which usually delivers on their parts. However, it wasn't a full front assembly like I thought it was going to be, so in the process of trying to transfer everything over I tore the cable the home button plugs into, thus leaving me without a home button. I ordered the LCD plate which has the cable on it, but I never got to find out how it performed because when it came time to check it out because then my LCD was broken, again. The screws were really nice though, I'll enjoy having a full set of spares.
My Advice
Make sure you know what you're actually getting and be prepared to pay for any screw ups on your part. Find a magnetic plate so you don't loose your screws, and don't be too aggressive with them when they won't come out otherwise you'll end up stripping the heads.
My Problem
I'm missing screws now
My Fix
The phone won't turn on at all
