This iPad mini 1 and iPad mini 2 Front Glass/Digitizer Touch Panel Full Assembly includes the small parts and adhesive pre-installed in the assembly, saving time and increasing the quality of your screen repair.

Digitizer Full Assembly includes (items pre-installed on the front panel):

  • iPad adhesive
  • Blank home button
  • Digitizer cable

Fix Kit includes:

This Fix Kit includes iFixit’s iOpener, a tablet opening tool designed to apply heat directly and evenly to case components joined with adhesive. Once the adhesive is softened with heat applied by the iOpener, the adhesive can be sliced using the many tools included in the iOpener kit. This toolkit is designed specifically for the iPad, but works with all tablets, smartphones, or other electronics needing heat application in the disassembly process. The iOpener is heated in the microwave and is reusable.

My Problem

Two pieces of advice for anyone else attempting this repair.

The front glass was broken on our iPad Mini.

My wife and I tried to replace the glass for the first time and we succeed with iFixit tools!

My Advice

If you want an easy fix, use the iFixit tools suggested in the guide.

The digitizer (screen) was broken.

Went fair but I was too rough with the LCD and broke it. I was rough with the LCD because the back light did not at first light. You have to disconnect the battery before LCD and digitizer but I missed that the first time through. So the back light was not workin . . .
