My Problem

The tablet was dropped several times, which left parts exposed. Chips of glass flaked off every time I touched the iPad.

My Fix

Removing the glass was messy, even though I taped down the shards. The edges splintered easily and I cut my hands several times. The plastic spudger wasn't strong enough to pry the . . .

My Problem

Broken screen

My Fix

Good. Forgot to connect the LCD cable on reassembly, then forgot to push in the cables hard enough, so had to take back apart twice! But was pretty easy in the end.

My Advice

Use a heat gun. You'll figure out how hot to heat it to, and you probably won't break anything.

My Problem

Broken iPad 2 glass screen . (significantly damaged) The outter edge and corner of this ipad was fragmented . I am writing this because of the importance of sharing an experience using the ifixit brand of tools. This company and others for the “do it yourself” should be applauded and not cens . . .

My Problem

Screen cracked

My Fix

Was a slow tetious procedure, like surgery, in hopes to avoid damaging other internal components. But the screen and bezel aligned better than a cheaper company that I had purchased before. The home button, pre-installed, worked very well. And on a final test I played YouTube videos an . . .

My Problem

I broke screen into about as many pieces as one can, so I ordered the replacement IPad 2 screen and proceeded to watch repair for the 2415.

My Fix

It took a day too remove all the smashed screen. It was then noted, the antenna was torn loose. The project went from difficult to very difficult. I ordered the . . .

My Problem

Had a customer bring in an iPad 2 with a cracked screen. Only minor cracks compared to many I've seen.

My Fix

Since most of the iPad screens I've replaced are completely spider-webbed, the screen removal was quite simple. Didn't have to spend hours with tweezers picking out tiny pieces of glass from adhesiv . . .

My Problem

The screen broke due to the fact the iPad was handed to a 2 year old to play a game on, he proceeded to throw it across the room. The mothers iPhone 5C is shattered as well due to a similar chain of events. The iPhone5C screen kit cost more than the value of the iPhone so it is a " goner" as we say . . .

My Problem

Cracked screen

My Fix

Not difficult but tedious. my screen was basically shattered so I had a lot of small pieces to deal with.

My Advice

If you like to tiker of have any experience in repairing other things you will be fine. The glue is tougher than you think. Expect a minimums of 2 hours for he repair.

My Problem

The iPad fell off coffee table which cracked the digitizer.

My Fix

Repair was straight forward and completed fairly quickly. This is not my first rodeo.

My Advice

Be careful of the WiFi antenna and make sure you clean the old sticky tape residue!

My Problem

Broken glass.

My Fix

Instructions were perfect.

My Advice

Print a picture of the open unit and use double sided tape to place screws on the picture. Keeps them in place and know where each screw goes
