Description

Description

Solder is used to create a non-permanent electrically conductive connection between non-ferrous metals. The relatively low melting point of lead/tin (Pb/SN) solder is a perfect match for sensitive electronic components. For applications where lead is not desired, one good substitute is "no lead" solder - usually a mixture of tin with a trace amount (0.3%) of copper. Note that most so-called "silver solders" are lead/tin with about 2% silver added.

  • Lead Free Solder. Coiled into convenient dispensing tube.
  • Melting point of 446/230 degrees F/C works well with our Soldering Kit.

Specifications:

  • Material: 99.3% SN, 0.7% Cu, rosin core
  • Weight: 0.5 oz / 14 g
  • Diameter: .04" / 1 mm
  • Melting Point: 446 ° F / 230 °C

My Problem

After charging overnight my battery would go to red line in a few hours.

My Fix

The repair went very smoothly. The hardest part was getting the ipod apart. The 7 Philips screws were difficult. Of the 7, 5 came out ok, but 2 had head damaged by the time I was done.... but there was enough left to reassemb . . .
