My Problem

I bought a used iPod nano on ebay and the battery didn't work (they didn't tell me about that part)so I decided to try and fix it.

My Fix

I have used a soldering iron before so, I thought how hard can this be. Watched the video acouple of times. It was very straight forward. My iron might have gotten too . . .

My Problem

After 5 years of operation my Daughters little iPod nano (G1) gave up the ghost due to a faulty battery. The battery actually expanded and "popped" the case open. My daughter was distraught that she could not listen to here "Phineas & Ferb".

My Fix

Repair was easy. The case was already open due to the bloat . . .

My Problem

The battery doesn't work perfectly and was old. Also the new iPod battery that ifixit sell have more mAh so I've decided to change it.

My Fix

The repair was long and I was been careful. At the end the iPod worked perfectly and the battery give me more hours.

My Problem

My 1G iPod Nano wasn't holding a charge. It would only last about an hour before zeroing out :(

My Fix

The instructions were easy enough to understand. Some of the soldering was a little challenging, almost like I needed three or four hands at once....but voila! Done and Done! Looks exactly like it did . . .

the old battery was down to 40 minutes run time on a full charge. time for a new battery.

My Fix

opening the case was the hardest part. once that hurdle was overcome the rest was pretty straight forward. ipod is like new, plays for several hours now.
